A great deal o' Goonies apparel has been manufactured over the years, most of it in recent years as the children of the 80s have grown up and acquired a nostalgia for the staples of their youth.

The Goonies has made it in some incarnation or another on nearly every medium since its release.  The story of The Goonies is available on record and cassette, as is the soundtrack.  The film has been released on VHS, the now sadly defunct LaserDisc format, DVD and UMD (which is now a collector's item).

 

Most of the items in this section were produced in the 80s as tie-ins to the film.  Items include storybooks with records/cassettes, coloring and activity books, souvenir magazines, and novelizations.

 

As mentioned previously, many fans have gone to great lengths to recreate the magic of the film and recapture a piece of their childhood by recreating key props from the film or simply by creating a unique Goonie-related  item.  One can't search eBay for Goonies items without stumbling across unlicensed Goonies keychains, coasters, lighters, neon signs, prop replicas, etc.

 

 

A plethora of press items have been produced over the years, not only in the United States, but in many other countries as well.  This section includes posters, press kits, lobby cards and other press-related print materials.  Truly some rare items are to be found in this section.

Though no longer produced, a handful of corporate tie-ins were created to promote the release of the film.  Some of the corporate sponsors included Frito-Lay, Hi-C and, of course, Godfather's Pizza and Baby Ruth.

 

 

Surprisingly, a line of Goonies action figures was never produced when the film was released, although a custom set of Goonies figures sold on eBay several years ago for a hefty sum (if you're the owner, we'd like to hear from you!)  Only recently, a highly detailed Sloth 12" action figure was released in Japan in limited quantities, fetching $200 and up.  Additionally, several Goonies lunchboxes have been released over the years, both plastic and the classic aluminum.
